Eastern Junior League Champions 2018

Saturday 16^th June at the UEA Sportspark saw the final of the Eastern Junior League.  Two teams of both City of Norwich and City of Peterborough and a team from Deben competed for the league shield.

Both City of Norwich teams swam brilliantly against sometimes tough competition.  Outstanding swimming by our 11-year-old girls with Sophia Pickering and Dayna Arbon coming first and second in both the 50m freestyle and the 50m backstroke.  The girls joined by Ellice Chen, Grace Greenhalf, Mabel Gigg, Georgina Evans, Olivia Dutson and Sophia Thomas also wiped the board with the 11-year-old medley relay proving our strength in that age group. 9-year-old Ellie Smith and Ellie Norman also took first and second places in the 25m breaststroke.

Overall, City of Norwich won 34 of the 49 events so a great result by all.  Final points were:

1. City of Norwich SC A – 274
2. City of Peterborough A – 251
3. City of Norwich SC B – 164.5
4. City of Peterborough B – 144
5. Deben Swimming Club – 120.5

The next round for City of Norwich SC is the Southern League final to be held at the Sportspark, UEA, on Sunday 7^th October.
