Mini Meet June 2016 - Results PDF Print E-mail

I understand that there were a few issues at this June's Mini Meet with no timing pads and no scoreboard. As a club we're sorry the spectator experience was not up to our ususal standards. However, spare a thought for Dave on the tech desk, he had to key in every time manually from hand written stop-watch times to bring you the results!

Hopefully the swimmers enjoyed the evening and look out for news of the next Mini Meet soon.

LEN European Masters Aquatic Championships PDF Print E-mail
London Aquatic Centre, May 2016.  After all of the pre-event registration and organisational problems from LEN, the pool looked awesome and felt fast so we were eager to get racing and UEA City of Norwich had their biggest team at a European Championships yet.  Mel kicked off the week with an awesome swim in her 200IM that rewarded her with a massive 4sec PB and top 30 finish.  Lynne followed suit with a great 200IM swim, a 1sec PB and a 7th place in her age group.  She did make it clear afterwards that taking advice from others and swimming fast on the BK leg meant that she carried an elephant for the entire FS leg!  The first day finished with Sarah in the 800FS swimming a great race and smashing her PB by 11secs.  What a fantastic first day.

Jessica-Jane Applegate Secures Rio 2016 QT PDF Print E-mail
Jess-Glasgow-2016 Congratulations to Jessica-Jane Applegate in securing the qualifying mark for the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games at the British International Para-Swimming Meet in Glasgow. She achieved this in the 200 metres freestyle.
Jessica-Jane said ‘I would have loved to have swum even faster however it is a big relief to have made the nomination time for the Rio Games. I am now travelling to compete at the European Championships in Madeira and I am looking forward to racing.’

This is a fantastic achievement in the 19-year-old’s bid to perform in her 2nd Paralympic games. Well done Jessica-Jane.
